We redefine parenting and create kid success with prevention strategies and positive changes in parenting and family attitudes and behaviors through public education. The funds we receive go towards: Assisting Children and Families with Information and Resources, Public Education, Community Outreach and Awareness, Youth For Youth Partnership, National Love Our Children Day, Bullying and Cyberbullying Prevention, Internet Safety, Positive Parenting Education, National District Attorney's Child Protection Task Force, Darko Rapotez Memorial College Scholarship Fund For Aged Out Foster Youth, National Block Parenting Progam, Youth Safety Programs, a Wish Program for child victims and foster kids, creating a 24 Hour Toll-Free Hotline, Speaker Bureaus and Advocacy. Funds enable us to produce and distribute over 35 guides for parents and children, maintain and enhance our extensive web resources, conduct the necessary research to help us focus on the trends of violence against children and produce effective anti-violence messages.

Summer is a time for school classrooms and hallways to empty and the awaited anticipation of our childrens' fun and play time.
Yet, emergency rooms across the country call summertime 'the trauma season for kids.' From the heat to pools to bike riding, parents need to be on alert.
Childhood memories are filled with summertime fun which means trips to the beach, ice cream, and rides at the amusement park. While your family enjoys the summer, emergency room doctors don't enjoy what they refer to as the trauma season.
This summer children ages 14 and under will be rushed to emergency rooms nearly 3 million times for serious injuries resulting from motor vehicle crashes, drownings, bike crashes, pedestrian incidents, falls and other hazards. More than 2,500 children will die.
Tragedies rise and nearly half (40 percent) of all unintentional injury-related deaths occur during the summer months (May to August) because children are supervised less, have more free time and are involved in more outdoor activities. While you relax this summer, summer is not the time to relax about safety. Close supervision, proper protective gear, and other simple prevention steps will help keep your child safe. Trauma is preventable. Keeping your children out of the emergency room takes thought and preparation.
First and foremost ... please remember to drive safely and use proper child seating and safety belts. It could save your child's life, yours and protect your family.
First our children had to deal with the shock of the September 11th terrorist attacks... now they have war to deal with!
As we face difficult times it is imperative that we do not overlook our children who are frightened and scared. And we must not overlook our children who are at risk and peril on a daily basis... and at even greater risk in times of stress.
The traumatic impact of war has verwhelmed our nation. No matter what our beliefs are - we must support our troops and we must pay even more attention to our children. We must be there for them, to answer questions, to show love, caring and support... we must ease their fears.
